My big grill is a gas grill, but I can't use it right now due to a deck issue..so I think I am going to buy a small charcoal grill. I haven't"t used charcoal for grilling for ages. Having to wait for the coals to get hot is so time consuming. It does impart a better flavor though. Gas or charcoal?

If somebody else is barbecuing, I prefer charcoal. If I'm barbecuing, I prefer dumping barbecue sauce over meats and cooking them in the oven. I hate barbecuing. I always burn myself no matter how careful I am about it.

@snowy22315 I always managed to burn my hand or fingers every time I barbecued until I gave up and gave two grills away. One big gas grill and one small charcoal grill. I set them beside the street with signs that said "Free! Please take these away!" They were at the curb about half an hour before some Latino guys came in a pickup and loaded them up.

the way you do at times cause it's a lot faster & easier to cook that way.

Yeah, they are. I forgot about the lighter fluid..since I haven't used one in years. I like Matchlight charcoal which I think doesn't require it, but lighter fluid might make it get hot faster.

We've never had anything but charcoal; and I do like the flavor.

charcoal, cause there's no sense in fast cooking
when you want to relax & enjoy your meal.

Charcoal - for the taste
Gas - for the ease/convenience

Vince always says barbecuing is the ruination of good meat! lol Most people use gas here. There are some incredibly fancy barbecues around. They're a virtual kitchen on their own.
