Finished reading Melania and moving on to a novel

I finally finished reading Melania's memoir. I found the book enjoyable. And it was nice to discover things I didn't know about her or about Trump. Since the book is a collector's edition it was 8.5 x 11 in size, instead of the usual 6 x 9. It was very uncomfortable to read due to its size. Towards the end I tried sitting on the couch and putting the book on my lap. It made it easier to read but still can't sit that way for a long time. I hope I won't have to read a book that size any time soon. I am now moving on to reading a book by Tom Wolfe called The Bon Fire of the Vanities. My mom's friend got it for me. It seems like it's an old novel as the copyright year is 1987. I don't yet know what the book is about but I know it takes place in NYC. My mom's friend said it's a must-read so I will give it a go.

Bonfire of the Vanities is one of my favorite novels. I have read it two or three times. What are some of the things you learned from Melania's book. Some people don't like her, but I just think she did "what a girl's gotta do."

Glad you found Mrs Trump's book enjoyable. Never heard of the other one but I do hope that you enjoy it.

@Ineeddentures Back cover says $250. And I think the packing slip said same thing.

I didn't know Melania had a memoir. What is one thing about her or Trump that completely surprised you as you read the book?

I didn’t know that the First Lady can redecorate the White House. She studied design and architecture back in her home country, though she was in college for only a year since she decided to move to Milan for a modeling career.

@lovebuglena I didn't know that either about the First Lady. I always thought that was the responsibility of the sitting President.

@moffittjc I guess he has more pressing stuff to deal with and maybe that’s why.

The bookshelves here at our house-sit have a lot of very thick novels. I think they'd be difficult to hold too. I hope you enjoy the new book.

A thick book ain’t the most comfortable thing either but it’s better when it’s at least a smaller size.

I have Bon Fire too but haven't read it as yet. Will be interested in your critique.
