It took place in 1939. It was about a 12 year old boy who ran away from his hiking party due to emotional angst and got lost on Mount Kathadan in Maine in July of 1939. Mount Kathadan is the Northern most point of the Appalachian trail. That is its claim to fame. It's a huge mountain, and it was really interesting to get a look at it from different perspectives. This kid was incredibly lucky it was the middle of summer when he got lost, as any other time of the year he certainly wouldn't have survived. Despite the massive search for him, (he was gone for 8 days, and presumed dead after 7, he actually rescued himself. He had walked 80 miles, and had laid down to die, but he saw a vision of his dad saying "Come to me, and trudged on."

I didn't feel emotional when watching it, because I knew he survived. It was fairly amazing though. Half the time what little clothing he had on was wet, and it temp was in the 40's some nights with the winds howling.

@snowy22315 What he was going through would have made me emotional.

Yeah, I image they do. They had some great what looked like 3D imagery of the mountain.

I enjoyed it. The reviews weren't that great, but I like survival type movies and shows. it reminded me of book I read and movie I saw when I was a kid called My Side of the Mountain. It was a favorite.
