MAGA is already losing their minds about Pope Leo XIV

First they were all celebrating because the former Cardinal Robert Prevost is American and, well, MURICA! Then people started digging up his Twitter account and saw that he reposted an article critical of VP JD Vance, commented on Trump and El Salvador's president laughing about the wrongful deportation of an undocumented migrant, and retweeted support for DACA recipients and criticism of separating children from their parents. He is known to support progressive social causes which shouldn't be a shock since he started out as a missionary. Crackpot Laura Loomer has already called him a "WOKE MARXIST POPE". Megyn Kelly and Charlie Kirk have weighed in too. I'm sure others have as well but I don't follow MAGA nuts so I can't list more names. Ironically both Trump and JD Vance tweeted messages of congratulations to the new pope. I found it hilarious that former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger tweeted that Vance needed to be kept away from Pope Leo XIV. (Pope Francis died the day after a brief meeting with him.) In any case I'm glad to see that it appears that the new pope will follow somewhat closely in Pope Francis' path. I saw someone tweet something to the effect of "if MAGA doesn't like the beliefs of the new pope just wait until they hear about Jesus." Well said.
Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected as the first American Pope on Thursday, becoming the religious leader of Catholics.

You've got a good point there with the tweet that you read. Besides............did they really think that they would have a vote or a say in this? How many of them are cardinals?

Let's hope he's strong enough to withstand all the flack that is bound to come his way.

We wondered whether Trump would try to take credit for an American Pope but even he might struggle with this one
