His brother says he’s a White Sox fan instead of a Cubs fan.

(Baseball is a source of division in big cities like Chicago, because they have two teams.)
Seriously, I appreciate that his first words were “peace be with you.” I’m not Catholic, so his rulings won’t affect me; however, I hope and pray he remains a strong moral compass for the world. We are sorely lacking those these days.

This is the first time I see worldly interests are being discussed when it comes to a Pope
That in a way is a good thing as taking religion away from what human beings need be it sports or whatever would not be the right approach for a Pope for his flock to follow him.

@FourWalls Whatever the interests they are not normally discussed when one talks about a Pope. Have you come across anything about the Late Pope Francis Surely he too may have had his own passions.

@allknowing — I think it’s an American thing. Maybe if a pope came from Liverpool they’d want to know his favorite Beatles song or if he rooted for Everton or Liverpool.

I have not studied this Pope and if that is what he did then it does not augur well.

@LadyDuck The Conclave that elected him should have surely known about this unless they too are in agreement with the Pope - disgusting

That would be a good thing. We need broad minded leaders.
