What do you think your opinion is worth to advertisers?

It happens too often. I buy something on line or pay for some service and in no time I get an email asking for a review. I understand that and I understand why - I’m not stupid. But why should I bolster someone’s trade or reputation for free? If my opinions are as valuable to a company as they insist they are, then surely I ought to able to sell that advertising rather than giving away information for free.
I’ve been receiving such requests for my prized opinions since I started this trip - airlines, taxi companies, hotels, restaurants etc and I’m not playing anymore.
Do you always leave a review?

No, I don't. My opinion isn't worth anything to them or they'd offer discounts or cash back for them. I block the sender and delete those emails.

For me, it works by extremes. If it is a great service or meal, I do a review. If it is an awful thing or the service failed big time, I will do a review. If it's business as usual, I have left a tip and am satisfied. I don't need payment to let the establishment know I appreciate their service because it is more of a courtesy on my part, and I feel that if my experience was a bad one, I want others to know about it. No need for payment.

No. I did leave a review for the company that did my roof because they did an exemplary job and were wonderful to deal with.
