Some plants seem mystic to me.

As I work on the farm, I encounter tens to hundreds of different plant types. These, some of which are trees, others crops and the rest mostly weeds tend to have peculiarity in growth, dispersion and reaction to the environment. A banana plant will for instance just refuse to add suckers if you do not weed, even when there is no trace of a weed around it. They seem to just want a hoe work around them to produce more suckers. The lion’s ear and the black jack weeds behave similarly. When you uproot them, they lean towards you and most of the time, touch you where the skin is bare causing a disgusting itch. Don’t you think some plants have some kind of behaviour when observed keenly?

I guess I am not attuned enough to plant behavior to notice this.

You need to be more keen, although it may turn out to be creepy! Reminds me of a certain novel titled "Still Life" by JOE DONNELY in which trees and other plants were trapping and even killing humans. It's among the creepiest novels of horror genre I have ever read.

I think the itching they cause is a defensive mechanism on their side. Well, the flower in the image is of a very stubborn weed called "Lionsear". It is hard to control and each head give tens to hundreds of seeds. As it ages it become spiky and can cause mild injuries to the skin, leaving it itchy

@SIDIKIMPOLE It's interesting seeing plants from other countries. It's easy to forget that every country has its own unique plants as well as some that are more 'international'.

Interesting. Weeds are nasty. Now way around it. I wonder about the behaviour aspect.
