Rainy Week For Us

Good evening friends. It's going to be a very rainy week for us. Since yesterday we already got about 2 inches of rain. They are calling for 5-6 inches by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. Made it through another mother's day. If you have followed me any length of time you know mother's day is a painful reminder of my mother who wanted nothing to do with my brother or me. My friend taught Sunday school yesterday, who comes from a similar background as me, who taught a great reality lesson. We all don't get the Hallmark movie moms. After church we went to Mike's Mom's home for a family get together. After Easter we weren't too excited about going over with everyone again. On Easter people were getting drunk and Mom was upset, but they didn't care. No respect. But we talked with her and said she knew when she sold the home to Rick, he drank and would probably do so with her around. Just not expecting all the nieces/nephews and spouses to get that plastered. Anyway, our niece flew in from Arizona and flew back yesterday. It was good seeing her for a few hours. Our nephew in Ohio came in but we were gone before he got there. He drove. He took some time off from work to visit with family. Not sure we will see him while he is here or not. It was a pleasant time together, mainly because no one drank. We got to see Rick and Ann's new puppy a goldendoodle. Named her Zelda. Mom's dog, Daisy who'll be 14 this year, isn't too happy with a new "friend" in the house. How are things in your corner of the world?
