I had broken wheat porridge this morning It is loaded with fiber and good for bowl movement. It is easy to make. Just soak it over rnight and cook it in water, add jaggery, milk, cardamom powder, raisins and ghee A delicious breakfast Try it. Image credit:

It looks just like what we would call Farina, or Cream of Wheat. Only difference is I think ours is ground more, and no soaking all night is necessary, just a short time on the stove. Of course, instand Cream of Wheat is a thing, but I hate instant hot cereals--they are like glue and I don't like their consistency.

I think it is the coarseness that helps bowl movement

Ghee is an Indian thing if I am right and therefore is freely available and I used to make it too.

It sounds delicious. We make porridge from oats. Basically one cup of oats to 2 cups of milk and cook in micro wave stirring now and then until it thickens Add sugar for the yum factor. And enjoy

@allknowing Oats are very good for the digestive system and are cheap and tasty . Our generation grew up eating porridge in the mornings for breakfast I don't think kids get fed it so much anymore

The food is interesting because wheat is not a common grain where I live. As a result, the only foods that are readily available here are rice porridge and occasionally oatmeal. It reminds me more of the Cerelac baby food.
