Food tasters for Kenyan VIPs amid assassination fears

I was following a certain thread on social media about VIPs in our country Kenya, and found it rather laughable. In the recent past, citizens and their elected leaders have been having bad blood due to the economic divide, corruption and failed promises. The citizens started demonstrations, the most popular one being that against the 2024 financial bill which saw the GenZ storm the parliament buildings and attempt to set it ablaze. It took the president’s clever move to involve a former prime minister who is much respected by the young generation to pacify the situation. But then the animosity is still on. With help of the anarchist citizens, opponents of seating politicians have begun eliminating their rivals! The latest was the assassination of a member of parliament early this month. Before then, scores of VIPs were hospitalized for food poisoning and others including the country’s chief of Defense killed in allegedly planned accidents. Most of VIPs are now in such bad paranoia that they have employed people to be tasting each of their food before they consume! It was rumoured that the VIPs eat the food at least 30 minutes after it has been substantially tasted and the taster shows no complications. Isn’t this madness taking charge in our country, Kenya?

Paranoia is a terrible thing but an awful lot of people are paranoid about things because they have good reason to be
So I am not sure if it is madness or not to have someone taste food for them before they eat it
I wouldn't like to be the food taster and tester though. Sounds like it could be a dangerous job

There is a song by Buffalo Springfield that is a favorite of mine. "For What It's Worth" The second verse is great about paranoia and such. Check it out if you'd like at the URL below.

The problem is, I think, they are guilty of their wickedness and are definitely aware of public hatred
