Yesterday I received a picture and article from homes.com about a mansion in a town called Evanston, Illinois just outside of Chicago, Illinois. The huge Victorian style home was built in 1978, is 8,600 square feet big. The mansion has 11 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. There are 7 fireplaces and three large, wide stepped wooden staircases! The home is on the market for probably in the millions between 2 and 4.9 million dollars. It is not stated in the article.

I love to look at houses. I am on a site called oldhouses.com. I get emails about houses from all over the country. I especially like Victorian architecture.

I do too! My mom, uncle and sometimes other members of the family liked to go look at model homes that were on the market. But then most of us got to not be able to do the stairs too well. I will have to check out that site.

@dfollin .........I just like to look. Yeah, the stairs would kill me. I have a dream house in my head that has my suite of rooms downstairs on the main floor. The young ones in the family can climb stairs. When I'm gone, my daughter could have my room cause she would be older and not wanting to climb them by the,n probably. I wish I could have that dream home before I go.

I was born in Evanston. It is a nice suburb with some pretty homes. It is also home to Northwestern University, where both of my parents went to school.

I was showing the picture to my daughter that was holding her infant daughter and I was teasing and told her she could have 3 bedrooms.

We live in a building that was built in 1899 and opened in 1900 - proper Victorian. Our apartment inside this big building was built from the outer stonework inwards to preserve the original building. We have one bedroom No fireplaces But we have a state of the art combination boiler and lovely radiators. The chimneys are still on the building though
