100 men or a gorilla?

I don't know where this question came from but it has been all the students have been asking me about for over a week. The question is--in a fight who would win? 100 men or a gorilla? (hand to hand and without weapons)
I'm going gorilla. I've seen what a chimpanzee can do to a person's face. Most students say the men would win but I disagree. I guess (and hope) we will never know.
I sent this to my friend today though as she went through a very difficult divorce. She thought it was hilarious.

It's a meme that's being debated on TikTok and in streams on YT for the last couple of weeks.
The gorilla would lose. They mostly have fast twitch muscles and the gorilla would get tired too quickly so a few men could defeat it. (There's a scientific stream I watch that actually shows how the men could defeat the gorilla just by surrounding it and keep fighting it until the gorilla is defeated.)

I would bet on the humans
Because they would most likely cheat to make sure that they won.
I would want the gorilla to win and rip a few of the 100 men to bits

They were talking about this last week on the sports shows I watch. I just don’t think the men could descend on the gorilla fast enough to be subdue it. And I think of that chimp who tore that woman’s face and hands off like you mentioned, and that’s not even as bad as what a gorilla could do. It’s a ridiculous question, and those usually make me smile.

Gorillas are very powerful and very cool animals. I would love to see them in the wild and sit and wait for one to come over. I would be terrified but excited!!!
