We had cocktails at the sea front at sunset again tonight. That was the plan anyway but it went down the way it usually does with my wife ordering a drink she thought sounded nice but upon the first sip discovered it not to be so.
And cocktails are expensive so I drink hers as well. Tonight’s fiasco was a negroni which you need to be sitting down to drink with no need to stand or operate heavy machinery and time soon after imbibing.
A negroni is a concoction made generally of gin, vermouth and Campari. A slice of orange is commonly added but here in Aegina it was a leaf of sage and some other unidentifiable element.
I liked it, finished both, but really it tasted just like something my granny would have bought from the pharmacy to cure a cough.
Do you drink cocktails?

Not anymore. Now that my husband has passed, I won't have the rare drinks and champagne on New Year's Eve.
