This week's side hustle was lucrative

This week I had 7 hours of homebound tutoring and 6 class coverages. As I always say--if I'm going to be here/there anyway then I'd might as well earn some extra money. It allows me to buy the things that I want without stressing about rising prices and of course it helps me to pay the bills. I just did the math and before taxes I earned an extra $584.55. That is not bad for an extra little bonus.

I’m not sure if you are bragging or you want us to feel sorry for you. Is $584.55 a lot of money in the states? Over here I could dine out like a king on much less.

not bragging at all. Just sharing. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to earn some extra $$.

@NJChicaa I’m sure. Over here, your extra money is a weekly wage for many. My last 20 odd years of working was a salaried job, which meant I could work as many hours over my normal working week, but I didn’t get any extra dosh for it. Occasionally I was given time off, or if deemed worthy, I’d get an annual honoraria. Make hay while the sun shines, as they say. I hold teachers in high regard, as I believe you have a much more difficult job in these days of social media and ‘difficult’ students.
