Over the past few weeks, eyes of the world have been focusing on the leadership of a young army officer by the name Traore, who is governing Burkina Faso in a style of his own choice. Despite putting in place strict international policy, he’s encouraging a more socialist-communist coexistence among his subjects. Basic amenities are free for all. Education is also free for all. There are claims that the government is setting up free eateries for the poor and building free hostels for college students. Entrepreneurs under 30 years are not subjected to paying tax and the bills required to run their businesses such as electricity have been reduced by half. Again, there is a rumour that all medical staff’s spouses and children receive free medical care. With these and many other changes Traore is putting in place, the world is definitely startled.

This is really wonderful if it can be sustained. However, all the 'free' stuff has to be paid for by someone.

I think the free stuff is to be catered for using money earned from mineral exports and reduced corruption

@SIDIKIMPOLE Countries that have oil or minerals do seem to be richer than some others.
