Nestled in the middle of the New Forest around Ringwood, United Kingdom, is the witchy, magical village of Burley. You can feel the energy and imagine the ceremonies that have taken place in the woods surrounding it. Still to this day, there are magical meet-ups, witchcraft shops, seasonal events, and spiritual and magical workshops that take place. This is where the famous witch, Sybil Leek ( known as "Britain's most famous witch") lived. She lived in the village in the 1950s and studied witchcraft as a white witch and astrology. Her landlord asked her to quit her ceremonial walks through the town, waving her staff and chanting. The notoriety that she brought with her beliefs was not received well by some at that time.. Later, the village became famous for being a witchy place to go. Sybil left the town behind and moved to America, where she wrote about 60 books and did some now-famous psychic work with parapsychologist Hans Holzer. He has also written about 120 books on the supernatural and occult subjects. The picture is from Controversial.com

That is a very unique tale. Obviously not many people would like someone who indulges in such arts. Often such arts are misused as well; in worse case we hear even of killings. I think I have heard of Hans Holzer but need to read more about him.

Even more often, people misrepresent. White magic is more a reverence for the Earth and all she gives us. Hollywood has really given it a bad rap.
