It seems that for my British friends a welcome change may be afoot when they visit the European Union.
Since leaving the EU upon the ‘Brexit’ vote, as I witnessed last week arriving at Athens airport, Britishers are herded through with Americans, Iranians and everyone else, whereas I with my Irish passport slipped in with my fellow Europeans avoiding a long queue.
I had picked up my luggage was out of the airport and into a taxi while my fellow passengers carrying British passports were still lining up to show those passports.
Now it seems that that might change and that the UK is bargaining to revert to the old system, where the British are treated as Europeans. I wonder what they’ll give up in return for such a boon?
I predicted thusly some time ago.

Actually I hope the EU tells the UK to go to hell
The EU knows Farage will be the next UK PM and I cannot seeing them wanting to get close to the right wing racist maniac who will be voted into power maybe sooner than we think.
I don't think you , me or anyone else could have predicted the so speedy rise of Reform.
If the UK wants to be treated as Europeans, we should rejoin the EU now without consulting the racists who voted us out
Scotland voted to remain. I voted to remain.

@ineeddentures Northern Ireland and I also voted Remain, but what would we know. I’m so fortunate being able to hold British and Irish passports (though I only have an Irish one) and so am an EU citizen.

Brexit meant Brexit.
I honestly can't see Starmer risking his political future by doing anything which restores our bond with Europe.
The people who orchestrated Brexit will hang him out to dry.

I think the UK were stupid to leave it in the beginning.
