What's for dinner? May 19

What's going on the dinner table tonight? I want to know! I'm making an old standby--Carmine's Pasta Pomodoro. It is basically a homemade tomato sauce with loads of garlic, basil, diced proscuitto, and EVOO. Super easy and super tasty. I will serve it over al-dente linguine and sprinkled with lots of shredded romano cheese. Yum! That's what is happening here. What are YOU having? Do tell!

I love tomatoes and often make a tomato sauce to add to dishes. I’ll be having one tonight with pan-fried fish and a few veg. I’ve never heard of EVOO. What is it and does it cost a lot? I’m on a tight budget, so even basil leaves are a luxury.

extra virgin olive oil. It isn't cheap but it is so good.

@NJChicaa Doh! I should have worked that out. I’ll go to the bottom of the class shall I? All olive oil is expensive here, but I do still use it in moderation. I did switch to other types of oil, but then I heard they are carcinogenic, at least the seed ones are. I think that report came from the US. What to do!?

Your inspiration goes a long way, I boiled some potatoes and mashed then with salted butter, then had unthawed chopped spinach and sauteed that it butter with some crushed garlic, and added a heated up frozen salisbury steak with gravy,

I would take the proscuitto and pile it high on a bun. YUM! I had my usual Buffalo chicken/cheddar sandwich and some chips.
