Eli's Field Trip and Last Days of School - 5/21

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
So Eli went on his field trip Monday with the 5th grade class to the Castle Rock State Park near the City of Rocks. I thought I would come back and share what he told us about the trip. Had I known he could have taken a phone to take photos, maybe I'd have photos from him to share.
He said that he had fun on the trip. He got to sit by his girlfriend on the bus and they were hiking partners.
The kids walked for 2 hours looking at the different rocks and everything. They even got to climb inside one of the rocks called Three Pools Boulder. It has 3 pools of water inside - one even had shrimp swimming around.
That is all that he really mentioned about it....
Yesterday they celebrated summer birthdays with ice cream and pizza.
Either today or tomorrow (guessing tomorrow since they didn't mention anything) is field day.
Tuesday they have their "carnival"
Wednesday they go to their movie at the theater.
Then Thursday will be the last day of the school year!
Can't believe it is almost over. He'll be finished with elementary school very soon. Hard to believe that he is going on to a new school in the fall.
Anyways - that's what is going on here.
Photo is one I did of Eli holding Squirrel (our grandparent's dog that my mom adopted after they passed away).

Ice cream and Pizza is a good way to celebrate everything
I would eat both to celebrate losing weight.

@Ineeddentures That sounds good lol. When I used to diet years ago, I'd have a cheat day once every 6 weeks.

Sorry didn't see this comment the other day. He's 11 and a half. Yes, he has a little girlfriend...she made him a note asking if he wanted to be her boyfriend and to text yes or no.

@LindaOHio It has been cute, she's really been showing that she likes him. I wonder if they sat by each other at the movie today, or on the bus and all that.
He's going into 6th grade in the fall, middle school yikes. I doubt he'll be any worse as a teenager, hope he gets more mature actually lol

That is a great photo. Well, I know Eli will be looking forward to having the summer off. I graduated from a private Lutheran elementary school and knew I was going to a public high school. If my two best friends at the time were not going to go to the same school I would have really been scared going alone, I hope Eli has some friends going there too.

It would be scary to go alone. My best friend from when I was back in elementary school moved away before we were supposed to go to middle school...so I had to go all alone. His 2 good friends are going on with him to middle school, just not sure if they'll have classes together yet or not.
