It is a regular thing to see them everyday at this particular mall here. Even on a hot sunny day, I wonder how can they survived in such costumes. And they are all located on the outdoor part of the mall. Of course they have boxes in front of them for donations.

Those suits are very hot to wear but, if someone needs the money enough, they will wear them.

@rakski That type of work for anyone not used to the hot temps would have problems doing that job. (I was "invited" to help out at an outdoor benefit when I was in my early-20s. I worked for a radio station and they were trying to drum up business for a new store in the adjoining city. I wore a Pink Panther costume for 4 hours in the blazing sun... When I took the costume off, my clothes were dripping with sweat. It was hot, hard work.)

@rakski When my boss tried to get me back in that suit again, I flat refused and told him I'd do his job of talking with potential customers and he could wear the suit. Since I wasn't being paid, he couldn't make me wear it again. He said it was too hot for him to wear the suit.

We don't see anything like that here in our town.
Mind you we don't have any Malls.
Actually we don't have very much at all.

@rakski
You most likely will have more people in your malls than we have people on our small town.
And we dont need Aircon.

It isn't too common to see mines here, and not really ever outside a city, but I do like seeing them when I get a chance

Props to them for the dedication! It must be tough staying in costume outdoors every day. But as long as they’re not directly under the sun and they get some of that cool air from the mall’s entrance, maybe it’s a bit more bearable and manageable. Hopefully, people are kind enough to drop some tips in their boxes!
