Pennywise the Loggerhead Turtle

It was unfortunate that a huge 302 pound loggerhead turtle was hit by a boat off the Atlantic coast in Juno Beach, Florida. The turtle named Pennywise was taken to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center but had to be transferred to the Jupiter Medical Center where there was a larger CT scan to accommodate the turtle. The story goes on when their equipment could not be used Pennywise wound up at the Palm Beach Equine Clinic in Wellington and their equipment which is designed for horses was big enough for the lady turtle. Who knows what Pennywise was thinking herself after all this. The best news was that Pennywise is carrying eggs and will be returned to the wild to lay them. Congrats to Pennywise and her babies.

@Yadah04 it is always great when an animal survives but even better like in this case that the turtle is having babies

That's good that she is being returned to the ocean. I wonder how many eggs she will lay.

@JudyEv just so happy she did not lose the eggs it must have been so scary for her but perhaps left her with fond memories of humans

Boats on the water can be a hazard for sea/water creatures. Makes me think sadly of the gruesome injuries that happens to Dolphins and Manatees. Glad the turtle survived and came through it ok.
