Young girl saves a child who fell into the Delaware River

A teenager girl who was near the Burlington County boat ramp on Friday May 23 is being praised as a savior when a child whose name or gender was not mentioned fell into the Delaware River.
The 14 year old girl was identified as Nylah Bennett was the person who kept the other child afloat in the river until a boater came by to rescue both kids and take them to safety.
The police in Burlington County are praising Nylah for her actions of saving the life of another young person.
All persons involved in the incident are safe and sound.

What an incredible act of bravery and quick thinking by young Nylah Bennett. At just 14, her courage and calm under pressure made all the difference in a potentially tragic moment. That was a brave, and thoughtful, thing to do, to stay with the child, keeping them afloat, until the boater came, and rescued them.
If she had tried to swim far, with the child in tow, she might have tired more quickly, and both of them might have been in trouble then.
