Prices are tumbling here, or at least the price of aubergines is. Recently in the supermarket I frequent they had risen to £0.95 each, but I noted this morning that the price has dropped to £0.69 each, a welcome dip. So I bought several and shall make spicy brinjal chutney.

Gap in my chutney knowledge - and many other subjects. I made a ratatouille once and it was the only time I ever used Aubergines.

We like eggplant but haven't bought any in quite a while. I'm glad the prices are coming down on them there.

Good for you. I'm thinking about making some marmalade as there are dozens of beautiful oranges on the tree in the backyard.
