There is a bakery chain in NYC called Paris Baguette that sells really delicious pastries. Also sweets, donuts, tarts, and cakes, as well as savory things to eat. You can also get hot and cold beverages there.
The place is rather pricey. For example, a raspberry almond croissant, which I love, costs $5.79 (+ tax) in a location close to my house. I don't go there often because the place is expensive but once in a while I like to treat myself.
I did that recently when I went to Manhattan to see a Broadway show. Beforehand, I got myself a raspberry almond croissant and a bottle of lemonade. I don't remember how much I paid in total but it was still cheaper than getting a sandwich and a bottle of lemonade or juice. Definitely way less than going to a fine dining restaurant.
Until yesterday I thought that Paris Baguette was a French place. Turns out it's a South Korean multinational bakery chain. And it has locations all over the world, France included. I'd never think it was anything other than French because of its name.

I wish the place wasn't so expensive. I'd go there more often.

@Ineeddentures Yes. And to make things worse they charge a 4% fee (here at least) if you pay with a card.

It's a real problem these days, so many places we like being so expensive to dine in.

But many of the pastries in Paris Baguette are not Asian though. Actual Asian bakeries (like a Chinese one) won’t have these probably.

@lovebuglena True - the Paris Baguette goods are less "Asian". I do remember seeing the mochi donuts there (but we didn't get them because it was rather pricey
). There is the 85°C Bakery Cafe chain . . . they are Taiwanese . . . they have pastries, but many are Asian flavored.

@much2say I may have tried one of their donuts once. Don’t remember how they tasted.

Definitely would have thought it was French, Sounds like delicious pastries, I can tell you one thing the reason for the prices is that they configure the ingredients they use and how much it costs them to make the pastries.

I hope they don't use high fructose corn syrup or other crap in their products.

Too bad it's so expensive. I would have thought it was French too.

There’s always a lot of people there when I go there. Must be popular, even though it’s expensive there.
