My new Roomba arrived today

I was an early adopter of Roombas (and the dearly departed Scooba) back in the day when I was very involved with pet rescue. I needed all the help I could get to keep up with vacuuming the hardwood and scrubbing the kitchen linoleum. It wasn't cheap but it was well worth the money. I didn't have either when I moved here to the apartment. Mine had long ago died and the prices for new ones were nuts. I did buy a Roomba a few years ago on an Amazon Prime Day but that met an unfortunate end a couple of months ago. The dog was here, he decided to crap in the bathroom and then that Roomba went through there and smeared dog $hit all over the place and it was embedded in the Roomba. Nope. Straight into the garbage. I received an email from iRobot last week for their Memorial Day sale. I was surprised to see that they were offering models that were just $399 and $599 instead of the usual $899 that they were starting at for the past many years. I decided to treat myself after doing so much extra work and get the $399 Roomba. It arrived today. This thing is great. Not only is it quieter but it also docks itself and the dock sucks out all of the crap it sucked up. That's really cool. The cats were fine with it just zooming around but they definitely were not fine with the vacuuming of debris stuff. That was just a new sound and Charlie hates all vacuums in general. Me though? Very impressed. This thing works better than what people used to pay $800 for *and* it self-empties so it can keep going while charged. This was a good splurge.

I'm glad you like your new Roomba. $899 is just nuts. I'm glad you found a bargain.

That sounds great. I think mine has reached the end of its line. It seems to get 'lost' and doesn't know where it has been and hasn't been.

My sister and brother-in-law got a Roomba last year that docks itself, and it was crazy how much that fascinated the kids. Hudson still goes and watches it when he hears it cleaning. I used to really really want one.

Lol hahaha , The dog was here, he decided to crap in the bathroom and then that Roomba went through there and smeared dog $hit all over the place and it was embedded in the Roomba. Nope. Straight into the garbage. Would it have cleaned up, the Roomba, not the dog.
