Goodyear Arizona Police Officer Dakota Berry came to assist a woman who was involved in an auto accident on Sunday May 25 overnight after the police officer he booked a suspect.
Officer Berry grabbed a tool from his police car to smash the driver's side window to get a woman who was pleading for help while she was inside her burning auto.
Officer Berry was able to grab the woman out of the burning auto by her ankles and get her out of danger as Officer Berry went back to work on traffic control.
The injured woman was taken by an ambulance to a local burn center where she in critical condition. She is expected to survive.
Officer Berry did suffer burns from the fire. He is being modest insisting that he is not a hero. He was doing his job to serve and protect his community.
I am sure that city officials in Goodyear will reward Officer Berry for his act of bravery in the future.

They need to do a lot more work on autos to prevent them going up in fire after an accident happens. The lady was lucky to be rescued, and will suffer for a long time, with burns like that.
