Quiet but busy day

The day was sunnier than expected but the temperature never topped 68 degrees F. As much as I love my sunshine I didn't even bother to go over to the pool. If I had heard from one of my pool buddies I would have made the trek but I was busy enough here.
I glazed 2 lemon pound cakes, made pita dough, macerated fruit for Eton mess, roasted vegetables for a salad, did traditional British fish and chips (imagine having to freeze fries for 3 hours TWICE), etc.
Oh well. Didn't get any vitamin D today but I have a tasty breakfast and lunch planned for myself and some coworkers. hahaha

Old Heston has some weird ideas about food we have been cooking for years and you would think he invented triple cooked chips the way he goes on about it.
We were cooking chips three times in the 70,s but it only took a total of about 3 hours
I think the most important stage was getting the starch out of the chips by running cold water over them.and.giving them a good wash.
Traditionally they would never have been frozen and I've never seen a Chip shop here freeze them.at.all.

My source for my vitamin D is sunshine. Everyday I walk under sun enough to bear its heat.
