May Day

I was wondering how many people have ever celebrated May 1st? Its the day my Mom and I would leave a potted plant on each others front step. One year I mentioned to my Mom I was looking for a new plant to welcome people to my home and a petunia was sitting there on May 1st. Another year it was a marigold. Any holidays you have celebrated with fond memories years later?

We don't recognise May Day but that's a lovely tradition you had with your mother.

I have learned so much over the years about holidays that are celebrated on Mylot. Some I hadn't heard of before I joined.

Yes I have learned a lot about plants that wouldn't have happened if we didn't celebrate May Day this way. The first time I was so surprised and thrilled to have a new plant and everyone that came over would learn what day I received it from my Mom.

it was the International Worker's Day and an offcial holiday so, it was celebrated here mostly by hanging out in the parks; bbq, singing, things liek that and if you have money for the meat cause, it doesn't come for free. but it's not obligatory. i like your kind of traditions.

I know that not all days are holidays in every country. I love plants, so enjoy the day.
