Police and firefighters rescue a dog that was stranded on a rock in Lake Michigan

Firefighters from the Chicago Fire Department and the Chicago Police Department answered an emergency call about a dog that was stranded on a rock off of a breakwater at Calumet Beach on Wednesday May 7.
The rescuers used a ladder to reach the dog and take the dog to shallow water where the dog was able to walk back to the shore safely.
How did the dog wind up in trouble at the beach is anybody's guess. After the dog was rescued by the rescue team, the dog was taken by animal control to be checked by a veterinarian.

Wonder how the dog got there in the first place .
He must have swam to the rock or waded to it.
Glad he was rescued though.

That seems to be a large group of rescuers there, but maybe some are onlookers. It was good the dog was successfully rescued.
