The Wind Blew my Shirt of off the washing line in the garden

June 3, 2025 11:33am CST
Sorry folks if I do not get to all of your comments any time soon but the really strong winds here are playing havoc with the internet and everything else. My Amazon delivery is late. I cannot get out on the bike as it's not safe. And even worse I lost my shirt , blown off of the washing line and gone forever methinks. I hope my chimney on my mancave survives but it's rattling about in the wind as well. Hope this posts

Why don't you use clothespin to prevent drying cloths from blowing away in strong winds?. We use it.

@Ineeddentures If the pegs failed to hold cloths from blowing away, the wind was really very strong.

Sorry about the loss of your shirt. I hope that you had used it enough and it was not the new one. Anyways, it's tough to let go off anything old if it's your favourite. We use cloth pegs when putting cloths on wash line.

@Ineeddentures Oh! Sorry that it was a new one. Is stealing possible in your neighborhood?

@Ineeddentures Okay, that is strong. You really should think about riding in that kind of wind

Really strong Raquel. I had to think twice about riding in the wind today. And the internet was obviously blown off course The chimney is still standing

@rakski I think about it, a lot. A few years ago I would have rided in all weathers. Not so much now Raquel and strong wind is scary even for me.

Yep, it posted. We rarely get such strong winds. Any chance they'll reverse and blow your shirt back again?

I wouldn't have thought so Judy. Yvonne says it most likely got stolen off of the line. I hope not

@lovebuglena I doubt that Lena. It's most likely miles and miles away.by now. Or someone who likes it picked it up and will claim it as their own

50 mph gusts My shirt could have blown 50 miles away in an hour. It would have flown through the air. A tartan airplanne

It has probably got a bit worse than it was. It is going to stay windy for the next 24 hours. Not good.

@inneeddentures Last time we had a dose of big wind my drawers blew off the line and dressed next doors tree for several weeks till another wind came along and blew them elsewhere. Hope your chimney survives. And yourselves.

Just got out on the bike. Wish we hadn't . Your drawers maybe made your neighbours trees look better The chimney might not survive I think we will
