There's Been a Lot of Shaking Going On

In March of 2020, there was a strong 6.5 earthquake centered near Stanley, Idaho. Stanley is 219 miles northeast of Boise and is in the central part of the state. Geologists don't know what fault is causing the 67 earthquakes in the area being reported in the last 7 days. Half a dozen were greater than 3 in magnitude, all centered around one mountain range.
The Idaho Geological Survey thinks that this could be "a classic example of a mainshock-aftershock experience." It is likely just the aftershocks of that major quake still resonating more than five years later.
I was glad to note that they do not feel that these quakes are related to the Yellowstone super-volcano and have no effect on the activity there. The thought of that one erupting scares me to death.

I'm glad they aren't related to Yellowstone. That makes everyone nervous.

Me too. Especially after a documentary about it that I saw a couple of years ago.
