Six Flags Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark mentioned that due to a third party operator who was cleaning the petting area at The Barnyard zoo when the operator unlocked the fence most likely by accident when the three alpacas went walking by the train tracks located inside the zoo grounds. The good news is that zoo officials were able to be returned to their pens before someone could get hurt. I have no idea if the employee who opened the fence so that the employee could clean the pen was terminated or not by zoo officials. Link is upi.com/6801747154956 via @upi

Animals are quick to find an opening so they can go exploring.

It seems that this was while the zoo was open to the public, and it was good that nobody was hurt, as alpacas can kick rather hard, when someone surprises them. I have heard that they will also spit on someone to keep them away too.

@Deepizzaguy We used to have an alpaca farm nearby. It was fun to see them all outside when we'd go by.
