Retaining freshness of coriander leaves

We have always stored coriander leaves in the fridge with the stems dipped in water. But they hardly remained fresh despite changing the water regularly.
Going through YouTuibe I found this trick and now they remain fresh for days. All you need to do is to add a pinch of sugar in the water.

@allknowing - It's a very demanding plant, if the temperature is too hot it does not grow, it grows very well from September to December and from end of February until the end of April. During the summer months it does not grow.

I don't use fresh coriander in my cooking... I use dried and ground coriander seeds when I'm making chicken salad for sandwiches or in soups.

We too use coriander seeds in our masalas but coriander leaves are normally added to vegetable ldishes and spicy snacks .They are just chopped.

You sure have an over load of green fingers. I tried but never succeeded in groiwng my own coriander leaves.
