Wellll it's just about time to chow down. I had some hamburger meat in the fridge from tacos the other night and decided instead of tossing it or giving it to the dogs that I would use it in chili. Its been stormy so chili was a good stormy weather meal idea anyway. Also since the meat was already cooked, it didn't take nearly as many dishes or as much time to prepare.
There's about ten minutes left on the cornbread I made to go with it. So here in about fifteen to twenty minutes chilli and cornbread will be done and dinner will be done.
So that's what is for dinner tonight. What is going on the table at your house?

I love homemade chili and cornbread. So, so yummy!
I ate at the hospital. They actually have good food....and I had several food vouchers to have a free dinner there. They brought it to me in my son's room when they brought his food, I had a chicken Caesar salad that was so big, I couldn't finish it. It was super fresh and really good.

I just keep cornmeal here and make my own, I know a lot of people use a mix though. My neighbor was just raving about her new cornbread mix discovery--she tried Dolly Parton's cornbread mix and loved it. I tasted it and yes, it's good...but it's not cheap! It just takes me very little time to make homemade and it makes a nice amount, so I will more than likely stick to that.
