It's that time of the year

The focus group I went to you yesterday was all about Medicare and asking questions about picking plans. How Medicare can make it easier, how we made our initial decisions whether we were comfortable with it etc. They are about to come out with new plans for next year, and I just did some user testing on this. It is good they are looking for feedback and looking to make the process easier. Not everyone has time to read tons of info on various plans. If you are of age, what are your thoughts about Medicare?

So far I am not impressed with Medicare at all. It seems to me that they are ticked off that I have backup medical coverage with Blue Cross through my employment with the State of Louisiana. I have some offices billing Blue Cross directly first instead of going through Medicare. Some not billing anyone, it's a total mess and a full time job just trying to keep up with the bills from the rash ordeal.

Sounds like you have the wrong plan. That is the good thing, you can always change it.

It can take forever to read through some of these things and it's not alway very clear when you do.

They only people who seem to read them word for word, and really know what's going on is those who have cancer, or a loved one who does.

I have a Medicare Advantage plan as well. There are dozens to choose from, but all the various plans aren't offered everywhere.

@jstory07 I have been happy with the plan I have had the past couple of years. I hope it doesn't change much.

@snowy22315 We found that out when we moved to a rural area. There are only two companies here for Medicare.

@snowy22315 Exactly, I know that I have to call them and ask when I need something.

Hubby likes his humana plan. If they don't change I will go with them when I am old enough.

So far my Medicare Advantage plan through Medical Mutual has been good. My hubby had bills of $60M, $100M, etc. I paid $2,000 on the $100,000 bill. I was more than happy.
