Cold weather and body pain

The weather here is pretty cool just because it has been rainling non stop for quite a few days. And that has brought down the temperature calling for a sweater and a warm blanket in the night All that is fine and welcome but why our muscles ache when the weather is cool is something I do not understand. The countries where there is severe winter wonder if their muscles ache too and how they cope with it

The weather here has been pretty cool lately because it’s been raining non-stop for several days. The drop in temperature has been a nice change — enough to call for a sweater and a warm blanket at night. I actually welcome this kind of weather. What I find interesting, though, is that while some people complain about muscle aches when it’s cold, I feel the opposite. I feel more relieved when it’s cool. It’s during hot, humid days that I tend to notice more discomfort or aches in my body. Maybe it’s the heat causing inflammation or just overall fatigue, but I feel more physically at ease when the temperature drops. It makes me wonder about people who live in countries with extreme winters. Do their muscles ache more too? And if so, how do they cope? Because for me, cooler weather is a break — not a burden.

I wonder too how those in countries with severe winter cope with it. Muscle ache in cold weather is due to restricted blood flow You can read about it here Your situation does not look common to me. You are lucky

@allknowing Perhaps it has more to do with where you are. For example, I feel more relieved when it's colder than when it's warmer. When I was in the United States a few weeks ago, I noticed that. I felt relieved when I got to California because it was much cooler there. My back pain returned when I went to Nevada because it was much too hot there.

It's pleasantly cool this morning, I like this temperature. In winter I do not feel pain, only when we have bad weather the arm I broke ages ago hurts.

@allknowing - Thunderstorms and snow are the cause of pain, not the rain.

When we lived in Donnybrook, many of the older people went north to warmer areas during the cold winters.
