Good morning from this side of the planet.
It's bright and sunny morning here.
. And that makes me happy. It's nice to have a sunny morning after a week of damp and gloomy ones.
It's 9:48 AM here and we are done with most of the chores of the day. The city is going without water for 24_30 hours starting at 8 this morning. So, we started early, got ready, finished all the cooking , cleaning and washing laundry. We stored water that we might need later. We even bought a big 25 litres of drinking water jar. We will open it only when the water in your purifier is empty. So far we are getting water from our tank. It might stop any time.
I have biodegradable disposable plates to be used.
Now it's a long day and I can stay productive doing some art, some online work and taking a short nap. I have two online sessions..40 minutes each later in the afternoon.
Hope all is well in your myLot corner.
See you in the notifications. Thank you for responding, I can see a good number of notifications there. My myLot bank is a little happy today

I'm glad your city notifies you when the water will be shut off for a time... The water here just stops but that happens very rarely. I have bottles of water stored, just in case. Not enough to do laundry but enough for drinking and cooking if we need it. (I can see the city water tower from our front door but when the tornado took out the electricity, there was no way to get water from the tower. We survived that with no problems other than no showers or cleaning until the electricity came back on.)
We just piled dirty dishes in the sinks until I could wash them later. *shrug*
It's always nice to see the bank here being happy.

Yes, disposable plates especially the biodegradable ones are good to use. We were prepared but we didn't face the water stoppage for two days. Luckily, the apartment had enough in tank and residents used it judiciously for it to last for 2 days. We had no water today around 11 in the morning for an hour, it resumed in the noon. I even used the stored water as didn't want to waste it.
Well, such things are ought to happen in case of natural disasters like tornado. And we have to survive in the way we can with whatever resources are available . How long you had to stay without electricity?
Today the bank is slow again

@arunima25 We went four days without electricity after the tornado went through. No phone services, either. That was the hardest part. I was using my phone to read books. I recharged my phone once from the backup battery. Pretty drained all our backups trying to stay online. I didn't care about online as long as I had something to read.
I haven't paid attention to the bank today...
Edit to add: No, my bank has been running well so far today. I've made 24 cents. That's more than my average for a full day and we still have over six hours left today. My average for a day is 17 cents.

@DaddyEvil Four days is long...Well, youths can't live without Internet these days, it has become a basic need for them.
My average is in single digit. It's getting better with being more active here The best I have made here is 1 dollar in a day.

I am waiting for a computer tech/computer equipment to arrive, and I am also going to be watching a neighbor's dog from 3 this afternoon until 11 tonight.

Hope that it arrived in time and it was not too much of wait. Hopefully the dog was well behaved and a delight to be with.

@arunima25 I'd be doing that too. When we have an unscheduled loss of water, I fill a bucket for a day or two but you have to use it after a while and by then I generally forget to fill it again. Luckily, we don't lose our water supply too often.

@JudyEv Even we don't have water loss too often. Twice a year for few hours for tank cleaning. And we get prior notice to stay prepared. That's the normal routine. This one was because of city's maintenance work and it happened for the first time in the last 11 years that I have lived in this city.

That's a big inconvenience when they shut off the water. At least they let you know!

We get our tanks cleaned twice in a year. At that time we get no water for few hours, we get the notice beforehand. This is the first time, we were asked to be prepared for 36 hours. This was for some government pipeline work in the whole city

staying without water is difficult for such long hours Arunimaji. If already there was prior alarm the cooling time is there to get organized. Your flat complex people were also responsible in making judicious use of water

We were well prepared. The supply went off for the declared time. But it had enough in our tanks to last for two days. So, no inconvenience.

Hope you have sunny pleasant days. Here the rain and gloomy weather is back since yesterday. Glad that we got a break for couple of days.
