Izabeau Pearston and Elijah Jackson were taking a nap inside of their apartment complex in Kennewick Washington on Thursday June 12 when their dog Willow began to bark to get their attention.
The couple did see that flames coming through their front windows. When the exit route was blocked by fire, Elijah's boyfriend told her to get a rope so he could tie on the bed and rappelled down from the second floor to the ground.
Izabeau then managed to lower her dog Willow down to the ground safely before Izabeau followed her dog by rappelling down to the ground safely before the Kennewick Fire Department was able to put out the fire.
Even though Izabeau, Elijah and Willow are alive and well, the fire destroyed their belongings.
Willow will be rewarded by her owners with treats for life as her reward.

Poppy our rescued dog is our alert guard dog. She barks when there's someone on the gate outside. When we're asleep, she barks aloud to wake at night when a thing intrudes our yard or premises.

That is very true since rappelling from a second story floor to the ground during a fire.

That looks to have been a fierce fire, and it was lucky that these people were young enough to be able to rapel down the wall, as older people would have trouble doing this.

That is true since rappelling down a wall is not for the faint of heart.
