About 20% of all purchases at McDonald's is a Happy Meal, each including a toy. That makes for 1.5 Billion toys distributed each year. 9 out of 10 children from ages 3 to 9 eat at McDonald's at least once a month. The Happy Meal started in 1979. Over the years it has included many memorable toys such as the Ty Beanie Babies.

Pretty collected Beanie Babies when she was little. We have a plastic tote full of them out in our garage. (Some of them we bought online. I only took her to McDonalds about once a month... But I was a "weird" father, according to my ex-wife. )

@celticeagle I like Mickey D's but Pretty sure doesn't! Before the pandemic, if I said I wanted to go to Mickey D's, she'd start griping that we ate out too much and couldn't afford it... I told her when she earned the money and started paying bills, then she could decide what was "too much" to eat out and whether we could afford stuff. She hated that!

@celticeagle Aye It has it's place, of that there is no doubt. But kids eating habits are terrible. And McDonalds fat laden calorie filled meals arensimply producing a generation of fat kids. With their parents help of course. Imagine if you will that out of the kids you mentioned that 3 or 4 out of 10 never visit McDonalds at all - then how many times per month do the other 6.visit
