British-South African endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh spent 12 days swimming around Martha's Vineyard island for a distance of 59 miles to raise awareness of shark conservation. Lewis finished his endurance swimming on Monday May 26 which happened of the 50th anniversary of the motion picture "Jaws" which showed the shark as a very mean killing machines which according to Lewis it is a myth according to Lewis. Lewis is hoping that by raising awareness that sharks are useful and friendly, he can convince people of our generation the good side of sharks. Of course I would avoid a shark if I saw one in the water for safety reasons. Link is upi.com/4331748363835 via @upi

I remember knowing that Jaws was so popular in theaters in Panama in 1975.

@celticeagle I did see the movie on cable television a few years ago. It lived up to the hype.

I'm sure sharks have their place but they also attack and kill people.

That is true that sharks are dangerous indeed.

I wouldn't call a shark "friendly". Especially a Great White or Bull Shark.

Though, sharks look dangerous, they are still useful in so many ways.
