I have accounts with a couple of banks There have been relatives also working in Banks.
I feel sorry for these employees. They are under staffed and that means they cannot take care of otheir customers in a manner they should.
I am having a tough time as of now There is a new account that is being opened in my name and it is over 2 months now They are just not doing things on time and keep referring back for something or the other
I sometimes think it is better to hide our money somewhere and not bank it

Totally agree
And we do do this with some money.

@Ineeddentures Looking at the pros and cons I still think National Banks are the safest.

After the financial crash here in 2008 I now don't think any bank is totally safe.
Our biggest bank went under and was only saved by tax payers money

Banks, like most other businesses, are letting more employees go since most people are doing everything online instead of going inside the bank to do it.
The last few times I've been inside my bank, there was only one teller and one person sitting in the lobby to direct people to the correct part of the bank to do their business where before there was four or five tellers who could help you with monetary transactions at any time of the day and at least three people directing foot traffic to the various areas people needed to reach to do their various tasks in the bank itself.
Pretty handles most of our banking transactions online now. I have to ask her to tell me how much is in our account and it's difficult to get cash from our account now.

Even if handling anything online you need someone at the other end and that is where things do not move.

I totally understand your frustration—it really can be exhausting when things drag on and there’s no clear end in sight. I’m honestly glad that the banks here in my area don’t usually take that long to process account openings or similar transactions. Most of the time, things move along quite smoothly unless there’s a delay from a third-party bank or some external transmission issue. But still, two months is way too long. I feel for the employees too, especially when they’re understaffed—but at the same time, customers deserve better service. I hope your situation gets resolved soon.

I do not know what to say but lack of staff could be the reason online or off line

@allknowing So sorry to hear about that. Banks shouldn't fall behind in providing for their customers. They are among the main economic drivers of the economy. A healthy economy is indicated by a smoothly operating banking system.

I also have some problems when going to the bank personally so I'd rather do things online

I have a facility for bank staff to visit me but dealing with them over the phone is a nightmare
