HOW SOON COULD IRAN RESPOND TO THE US ATTACK?

Global news reports claim that the US attacked Iran’s Nuclear plants in the wee hours of June 22nd and utterly destroyed everything. Iran has the capacity of retaliating in many ways, including targeting the US missions abroad, including military bases and embassies. The question remains, how soon? Any properly reasoning person should be gravely worried. I remember in 1998, after US attacks on Al Qaeda, the retaliation was bombing of US embassies in Nairobi Kenya and Dar Es Salaam Tanzania. I think it is about time that countries that have close ties with the US take utmost caution, since the “wounded” Iran could cause devastating destruction to an “innocent” friend of the US.

Iran did retaliate already.. Fired more missiles into Israel. I think America should be very careful of the fights they pick. And another thing Why should America have nuclear weapons and then turn around and say any other nation should not have a nuclear programme. Because with Trump in charge we never know what will happen next He is more unpredictable than the Ayatollah Just who do America think they are?

It's not about having nuclear weapons. It's about what you have them for and how disciplined one is not to use them. Iran is not such a place. Their nuclear ambitions have been clear. They are not interested in deterrence or defense. They want nukes to bomb the United States and wipe Israel off the planet, something they have made clear since 1979, which is WHY they should never be allowed to possess them.

@Ineeddentures I just explained why. MOST nations have them for deterrence #1, and defense #2. But when you have the deterrence, it would be unlikely you'd need to use them in defense. And the only reason you'd need them for defense would be if another country with them would decide to use them. MOST countries who have them would ONLY use them if someone else used them... Since no one who has them would likely use them... They are there just to ensure no one ever uses them... In the case of Iran, they ABSOLUTELY wanted them to USE them, and thus, that is the difference. As for Trump ever having any desire to use nuclear weapons, not the case at all. Trump wants peace. At the same time he advocates for that through strength. Trump has never been a war president, being even a lifelong dissenter of war. But he also understands there is a time to send clear messages to enemies and other bad players that they ought to behave.

@porwest Aye but then you could ask questions about why any nation really wants them. And if you believe some of the rhetoric that would spew out trying to justify having them , That would be foolish Like take the UK Having nukes is not going to stop anyone who wants to nuke us from doing so -.its.folly to believe that. Trump would love to nuke Iran off the face of the Earth, Don't say he wouldn't, I'm not saying he would, but he wants to.

Of course the Iran will do something, they will when they are ready. I am very sorry for all the civilians who will pay the price of this attack.

@SIDIKIMPOLE - As usual, leaders hide in their bunkers and the civilians suffer for their decisions.

Iran's interest, if it has any at this time, would be to target the U.S. specifically. At the same time, I think Iran is barking up the wrong tree. They would not last long in an all out war with the U.S., which is what they would invite if they decide to retaliate. Trump is not playing games.
