One of those days

“They're funny things, accidents. You never have them till you're having them.” (Eeyore in ‘The House at Pooh Corner’ by A. A. Milne). I’m going through a patch of clumsiness right now. Not in any major way (yet) but just little things. I picked a punnet of raspberries from the garden and then knocked it over in the kitchen. I was trying to be helpful in putting Big One’s freshly-washed clothes away – but then I dislodged a noticeboard that’s just hanging on the edge of the wardrobe and that started a whole cascade of things off the bookshelf below. I opened the cupboard to put some clean plastic tubs away, and knocked a whole stack of them down and they tumbled all over the floor. Most amusingly (and potentially disastrous), I managed to snag my trousers on the handle of the drawer as I was just going to sit at my desk, and almost fell over. That could have been the kind of freak accident that comes completely out of leftfield and just wipes someone out. You read about some well-known person who died suddenly after a freak accident resulted in them hitting their head – I could easily have fallen over, hit my head on the nearby radiator, brushed it off as nothing to worry about and then ‘woken up dead’ as they say I am being extra careful this afternoon, it just feels as if something might go badly wrong! Hello Blodwyn! I haven’t seen you on here for ages. I love that you are quoting Eeyore. I was going to ask how you were, but obviously you’re not doing too well, with all this clumsiness going on. Things usually happen in threes, but according to my rough calculation, you’ve gone beyond that. At least you haven’t come to any harm. I see the latest Final Destination movie has just come out. You’ve nearly made your own homemade version. Take care.

@Fleura Great, I’m fine too. Thank you for asking. Oh, you didn’t? Never mind. Me neither. I love the film, “A Blustery Day” It makes me feel all warm inside. It’s like a big hug.

Actually I am fine, thank you. I even jumped on the trampoline this morning (we just fitted a new padded surround) and managed to not injure myself or fall down the ladder, so that was a win! Things have just been busy and my partner was away so I was having to do everything. I love the Winnie the Pooh books. If I had to take a book to a desert island that is what I would choose, I never ever get tired of those stories

@Orson_Kart Sorry that was very self-centred of me wasn't it? Glad you are fine. I've missed being around here.

I hope this run of clumsiness is brief!

I certainly hope that's an erroneous thought and nothing bad actually happens to you. But I certainly understand having that kind of feeling. When we put the new mower together, I told Pretty I was dizzy so was staying up on our front porch. (I always worry about falling in the yard and breaking something.) Sure enough, when I had to go out into the yard to start the mower for her a second time, I got dizzy, went to lean against the garage door and put my hand right in the broken window, resulting in a nice slice at the base of my palm requiring three stitches. Little accidents can and do happen all the time. Please be careful.

Oh my goodness! That really was the kind of freak accident that you wouldn't foresee, even with a diligent risk assessment! I hope you are OK.

@Fleura Thanks... I hope so, too, but it is helping me lose weight.

Good heavens, please be careful! Move slowly and deliberately. That's what I do. I could fall so easily. Knock on wood. I hope you had a better day today!!!

It's when we try and be extra careful that things go wrong, or more wrong than the previous examples. Be careful lol
