Claire is not going to have a very good day tomorrow

She is 1 year old now and is finally getting spayed. I wanted to get it done over the Christmas break but the low-cost clinic was closed. Then my former neighbor told me that they have like a 2 month waiting list the week before spring break. She has started meowing again today so I think she is going into her 2nd heat. I'm not worried about her getting knocked up b/c the 2 male cats here are neutered (and I'd love to see Charlie try! ) but I don't want to deal with the meowing or her increased risk of cancer. I just made the call and they have an appointment for tomorrow. No food after 10pm but water is fine. I have to drop her off at 8am and then pick her up the following morning. They keep them overnight. Not sure why as the regular vets I've used over the years have never done that. I hope at least someone stays overnight with them. Not sure what the price will be. When I had Adso neutered during COVID it was like $83 plus a bit more for vaccinations. Females are always more expensive but you've gotta do what you've gotta do. My poor little Principessa.

They charged me more for my late Annabelle because when they spayed her she was just going into heat. I know they charged me more because of the city I live in, and they know the surrounding area will pay it. However, the low cost place is always booked up. I hope Claire has a fast recovery. She’s such a sweetie.

I told the person on the phone that I think she is going into another heat and she said it didn't make a difference. I was surprised that they had an opening for tomorrow but I jumped on it. My sweet Claire is a very lovely girl. Even my ex who claims to hate cats (which he totally doesn't) always says that when he sees her. The first time he met her she was like 4 or 5 months old and he said "that is a sweet cat". It is funny that all 3 of my cats love him as they never lived with him. Charlie loves EVERYONE. Adso is a scaredy cat but always comes out immediately for him. Claire somehow has decided to love him too. Maybe they just get the vibe between us.

Beware. We had two male hamsters when I was a child. One morning we discovered they had had eight babies.

I'm sure there'll be someone there overnight to look after her, and any other 'patients'.

Aww, poor baby. But she'll thank you for it when she doesn't accidentally get out and end up with a bunch of kittens.

Poor Claire fluffybutt. I hope she comes through it OK. She will be much better off when it's done.
