Busy Morning Here

So today we woke up around 8:30. Hubby turned on the television and we got caught up in watching some of the old Adam's Family shows. Next came coffee in bed. I started doing some surveys on my phone when my husband asked me if that was the dog he heard barking a few minutes ago. I didn't hear it and the chickens were not flustered, so didn't think much of it.
Then the dog started barking again...like when a delivery person shows up that he does not like. So my husband went outside to see what the problem was. I thought, hey just a package being dropped off. Nope!
One of the roosters that is housed separately escaped. This is the rooster that my granddaughter had to have -- one that I hatched a couple of years ago. This rooster was white and she fell in love with him. He lasted at their house for about a year when he was returned. I was told that the father in law, who also lives there couldn't take the crowing.
So I set my coffee aside, got dressed and went to get the big guy. This rooster is very docile and lets me walk up and just pick him up. I stroked his neck and back to keep him calm. The only problem had was getting by the dog's area to get back to the chicken pens. That took a bit of work because Duke wanted to "play" and/or eat the rooster. The rooster stayed calm and we managed to get thru without any harm done to me or to the dog.
Have you had any unexpected things happen first thing in the morning lately?

Apart from the guy walking up to George the other morning while he was on the porch, no. Not really.

I am pleased the rooster was safe.
I am off work at the moment so I admit that I tend to sleep late these days .....I probably am missing anything unexpected happening .....

It didn't seem to bother the rooster very much because he got past the dog and ended up on the other side of my house! If I hadn't gone outside to get him when I did he probably would have made it across the road or gotten run over. They drive crazy out there.

@Ineeddentures It's a mess with Beau Teak kitty. He has chronic gum and tooth issues plus respiratory stuff. Beau is at least 10 years old. The nearest Vet that is kind and decent is about half an hour down the very busy highway. Plus the cost is high for his help. Excuses. Anyway, Beau has been going through a flare up. I don't know what to do- last time I spent about 500.00 and the help kind of lasted a few months. Right now Beau eats canned kitten chow cause it has more fat and nutrition than adult canned food. That keeps the weight on him. He is passed out, dreaming, on my lap right now.

@Ineeddentures I trust this one. He's young and has nothing to protect but himself. As long as he isn't showing any aggression or signs of it, we will be friends.

Loved the Addams Family, I remember one time I found the entire Munsters on YouTube and watched until I got tired of old Herman,

Nothing unexpected lately whether first thing in the morning or later in the day.
Glad you were able to get the rooster back to his pen without any trouble from Duke. I can understand how the father in law was annoyed by the crowing. We have chicken and roosters up the road from us and those roosters start early in the morning and can be quite loud.

Nothing going on here. I'm glad the rooster was cooperative. Have a great day.
