And The Heat Wave Continues

Happy Wednesday Everyone! another day of this brutal hot weather. Don't quote me on this but I think today is supposed to be the hottest day before the temperature breaks in the next few days.
Right now I'm sitting here enjoying my coffee and the a/c. I have it set at a comfortable temperature and will deal with the high bill when it comes.
Last night my daughter and I were reminiscing about how we didn't have any air conditioning in the house when they were growing up (we didn't have any when I was growing up either) and how we managed with just a few fans.
This is the first house I've lived in that has central air conditioning and I consider it one of my luxuries. I feel very blessed.
I don't have much planned for today but days fly by whether I'm busy or not.

I don't think I could just use fans anymore. I'm too old and can't stand being hot.

We're hovering around the high 90s with a "real feel" of over 100. Too early for this much heat and hope it isn't a sign of a scorcher of a summer ahead. Do you have a/c?

Like you I didn’t grow up with central air. I don’t think I could easily go back to just fans.

When my kids were growing up we only had those box fans in the windows. I couldn't deal with the heat now.

I remember no AC in school when it was so hot it made your head spin. The windows would be open; and the hot sun would be beating in. I'm glad I have central air and ceiling fans here. No vacation plans here.

Still very hot today. Will have heavy rain and thunderstorm tomorrow. Should bring down the temperature a bit.

a/c is great in these hot summer days isn't it..... our weather has been cooler today but set to get hotter again at the weekend.

I can imagine how big a bill you might be facing
Be like the bills we face to heat our homes during the winter.
I was going to ask about how people managed in the days before air conditioning was invented
Vacation plans , well can't really plan anything until Yvonne gets over the COPD flare up she is experiencing just now
