Sitooteries a go-go.

In this ridiculously over-heated weather phenomenon Europeans (and others) are experiencing, there has been a surge in demand for sitooteries in Ireland. People erect them in their gardens and sit under them dressed in only what will keep them out of prison. Crates of ale and mother’s ruin are procured and much loud talking, guffawing and cackling carries on through the dark hours, and it only takes one such garden party to deny sleep to dozens of upright citizens. Of course the are many owners of sitooteries who operate them with respect for neighbours, but there’s always one. Where I used to live every house had a sitooterie, and every sitooterie had an all night party. Do you have a sitooterie?

One neighbor has a sitooterie, but he is very polite and we never hear loud talking, or music. We are lucky, I cannot believe this is happening here in Italy.

@xFiacre - Yes, northern Italians all born here in the region of Como. Most of them are "frontalieri" they live in Italy and cross the border every morning to work in Switzerland. The border is 700 meters from our apartment.

I don't have one; but I'm sure some people here in the US have them.

We do not have them. due to the weather and the humidity, unless we turn on the air-con, we are likely to be in much lesser clothes than expected. I would always go without a shirt if I do not have any air-con in the house,.
