Well the pool was short but sweet

I headed over around noon when the sun came out but as soon as I got there the gray clouds rolled in and we heard thunder. Awesome.
When a friend's daughter saw me signing in she yelled "Hi Miss NJChicaa!" She was there with her grandmother but she's known me for a couple of years. It was nice chatting with someone new and playing in the pool with the young girl.
We were there and allowed to stay in the pool for a couple of hours with gray clouds and thunder but the lifeguard told us to get out of the pool when it started to rain. What? Aren't they trained to know that if you can HEAR thunder then you can be subjected to a lightning strike? I mean I know better but I was just happy to be out, in the pool, and chatting with someone.
We are supposed to have similar weather tomorrow and I will be at the pool again. I got some good color today despite the fact that it was cloudy.

Isn’t it funny how people don’t know that about thunder and lightning, or even that you can get a sunburn on a cloudy day?
Of course, I thought if I didn’t eat anything for a while I wouldn’t have to use the bathroom, and you taught me that was incorrect!

I would have loved swimming in the rain as long as no lighting or thunder was around. I hope tomorrow you can have a full pool day,

Better to be safe than sorry when there are dark clouds outside when anyone is in a swimming pool.

The pool sounds nice, but so does rain! It was 104 here at 8am . What?
I am glad you got out and enjoyed the pool a bit! That's always fun.

Yes, the lifeguard should have known that and cleared the pool.

I knew it but I stayed anyway just because I was enjoying myself. It was funny that she made us leave when it started to rain though. We were already wet! Typically the rule is you have to clear it when you see lightning. I was keeping my eye out for it and never saw it.

@NJChicaa You are right about if you hear the thunder you can get struck by lightning.
