At the Lake Superior Zoo in Minnesota brown bear had to have a dentist fix his teeth. The bear named Tundra was sedated and fitted with the titanium alloy crown that was made by Creature Crowns of Post Falls, Idaho. It was created from a wax caste of the tooth.

That's pretty amazing. There seems to be nothing vets can't do nowadays.

@AmbiePam and great that the bear got relief from his tooth. Imagine how angry he could have gotten?

That must have been a nerve-wracking experience for the dental vet that worked on him. I wouldn't feel at ease, even with sedation.

@Juliaacv better a happy bear with no tooth pain than an angry bear with pain

That was very cool. No one, even a bear, should have to suffer with a bad tooth.

@RasmaSandra They would have had to come up with a special diet for him.

@RasmaSandra I suppose a bear is a good size to work on, whilst a cat or small dog would be more difficult

@RasmaSandra That would make for one grumpy ol' bear. Toothaches are no fun for anyone humans or bears.

I imagine the dentist worked quite quickly. Just say the sedative had worn off and the bear had woken up confused. Ouch Tundra will be a happy bear now though
