Dosa as a breakfast item is what one sees in our kitchen often.
There are different types of dosas and the one we make involves raw rice batter to which a cup of cooked boiled rice and half cup of black dal is added while making that paste. Yeast is also added along with sugar and salt It is kept for a few hours until the batter rises
Dosas are fried in a shallow pan. They are eaten with chutney or dunked in tea

@LadyDuck I know what you mean. The pancakes that you are talking about are thick but what we have are thin and we call them pancakes

@allknowing Pancakes are not like crêpes. Crepes are thin and delicate, while pancakes are thicker and fluffier due to the use of a baking powder.
